It features a more youthful color scheme, five small food compartments, DURABLE RUBBER FINISH top and bottom and overall exudes a better product. The latches are secure, and although it may be difficult for children to close them at first (this is a tight seal around the inner tray), they become hooked after a couple of tries. Bentgo Kids come in a variety of colors and are more durable than the Yumbox.
The Bentgo Kids box doesn’t hold A lot of food, but it is enough and I believe it will have enough food until it moves into second or third grade (a good box for 3-8 year olds). The largest compartment will hold half a sandwich, unless your bread is large, but then you can simply cut it into quarters. The Bentgo Kids is slightly larger than the Yumbox and you can manage to fit a water bottle.
Keep in mind that it is still hot in early autumn and these lunchboxes handle the heat just as well as small thermoses.

The one caveat is that since the sides are the ice packs, this lunchbox is not for those who aren’t careful with their things. Keep it away from pointy stuff, hot-enough-to-melt-stuff, dogs that chew, cats with claws!!
Also note that these zippers should be wide open on two to three sides to allow thorough cleaning and disinfection. We had to discard many of the top-only lunchboxes as it was too difficult to see when you were trying to clean them.
